Tallahassee, FL : Florida man crashes while driving 132 mph on Turnpike on Tuesday, January 17th 2017
A man in Central Florida has been accused of driving 132 mph on Florida’s Turnpike after crashing into a garbage truck Tuesday morning.The Florida Highway Patrol told the Orlando Sentinel that Daniele Heller, 20, was driving southbound in Orange County possibly racing another car.
While driving on the left shoulder to pass a car Heller lost control of his 2013 Nissan, hit the barrier wall, and struck a garbage truck.
The 60-year-old truck driver, Carlos Guivas, fortunately did not have any injuries, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Heller suffered minor injuries. An FHP Trooper said that he clocked Heller at 132 mph and the vehicle he was supposedly racing with was not found, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Heller was arrested on charges of reckless driving and taken to Orange County jail on a $500 bail.
