AMITE CITY, LA : Car strikes kills Hammond woman walking on interstate after crash state on Sunday, 6th October 2024

A Hammond woman is dead after being struck by a car while walking on Interstate 55 Sunday morning, according to Louisiana State Police. The crash claimed the life of 29-year-old Cierra Porche.

Troopers said she was walking into the left lane of the interstate when a 2022 GMC 2500 hit her.

Before Porche was struck by the vehicle, she was involved in a crash on the interstate near LA Hwy 16 around 6:45 a.m.
