Miami County, KS : 25-year-old victim identified in fiery fatal crash on U.S. 69 in Miami County on Saturday, 10th November 2018

A Jeep Wrangler barreling the wrong way on U.S. 69 hit a northbound car early Sunday morning, killing one of its passengers and inflicting life-threatening injuries on the driver.

The passenger who died was identified late Sunday as Joshua Alexander Kinsey, 25, of Kansas City, Kan.

He was in a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Charlene Crabbe, 44, who was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, Jacob Knapp, 29, was injured and taken to a hospital. He was reported in stable condition Sunday night.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office reported that Knapp was driving the Jeep south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 69 near 223rd Street about 3:50 a.m. when it hit the Malibu. The Jeep then caught fire.

The crash remains under investigation.
