Duval County, FL : James B. Jackson, 31, died after Philips Highway crash early Sunday, February 14, 2016

James B. Jackson, 31, who wasn’t wearing a safety belt, died at UF Health Jacksonville. He was a passenger in the car driven by Anthony A. Jones, 39, also of Jacksonville, that crashed about 2 a.m. on Philips Highway north of Bonneval Road, according to the Highway Patrol.

Jones, who has been wearing a safety belt, was taken to UF Health. The car was northbound on Philips Highway when it veered off the road and hit an overhead road sign pole and utility pole. Jackson was ejected during the crash, the Highway Patrol said.
