A bicyclist who turned into the path of a 16-year-old driver Tuesday afternoon was taken to the hospital and issued a traffic citation.
The bicyclist, 57-year-old Terry Stiny of Fort Walton Beach, was in the westbound lane of Eglin Parkway, turning into Mariner Plaza around 3 p.m., according to Jo Soria, spokesperson for the Fort Walton Beach Police Department.
Both northbound and southbound lanes of Eglin Parkway had a green light at the time.
The juvenile driver swerved to try to avoid the bicyclist.
Stiny was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with serious injuries.
He was cited for failure to yield, Soria said.
