AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA : VSP working to identify man killed while walking on I-81 on Friday, 9th February 2024

Virginia State Police are working to learn the identity of a pedestrian who was killed in a crash on I-81 in Augusta County early Friday morning.
State police said they were dispatched to Route 11 just after midnight on Feb. 9. While at the scene, troopers learned a man was hit while walking on the road along Route 11 North, at the I-81 entrance ramp.
VSP said the vehicle was attempting to merge onto the I-81 ramp, and could not avoid hitting the man.
