Avondale, AZ : Two people seriously injured in Avondale crash on Sunday, January 11, 2015

Deputies with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Department are investigating the cause of a bad crash in Avondale.

Officials say a driver was speeding while heading north on 107th avenue near Buckeye Road Sunday when the driver crossed the road and went over the railroad tracks.

Deputies say the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a power pole.

Both people inside the car were taken to the hospital in serious, but stable condition.

MCSO says speed and alcohol may have both been factors in the crash.
