A New Hampshire man involved in a crash in Canterbury on Sunday night has died, police confirmed Monday.
Joseph Nelson, 24, of Franklin, died of the injuries he suffered when the car he was driving crashed off Interstate 93 in Canterbury. State police said Nelson and a female passenger were thrown from the vehicle. The passenger suffered serious injuries.
Two children in child car seats in the vehicle were unharmed, police said.
Police said it was unclear why the car left the road. It traveled down an embankment for several hundred feet and rolled over several times.
State police said Nelson was facing charges of felony driving under the influence of drugs.
There was no update on the female passenger's condition.
