A Windham man died of injuries that he suffered in a crash late Thursday night, police say.

The crash was reported at 10:15 p.m. on River Road near the intersection with Covered Bridge Road.

Police said officers found that a car had gone off the road and into the trees.

Brent Muehle, 29, the only person in the car, was thrown from the vehicle, police said.

He died Friday morning at Maine Medical Center.

Police believe that excessive speed might have caused the crash.
