Ogden, UT : One dead in motorcycle crash at Hill Air Force Base on Tuesday morning, March 28, 2017

A motorcyclist died in a crash Tuesday morning at Hill Air Force Base.

At 5:40 a.m., a civilian employee riding a motorcycle was involved in a fatal crash with another vehicle on base near the west gate, according to a statement from Hill AFB. The west gate is located at the 650 north exit of Interstate 15 near Clearfield.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

"My heart goes out to the families and friends of everyone involved in this morning's accident," said Col. Jennifer Hammerstedt, 75th Air Base Wing commander, in the statement.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
