ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FL : FHP Pedestrian killed in Escambia County vehicle fled scene on Sunday, 6th October 2024

Florida Highway Patrol officials say a 70 year old pedestrian was struck and killed in Escambia County and the vehicle that hit him fled the scene.

FHP officials say the accident happened at W. Detroit Boulevard and Sharon Lane during the early morning hours of Sunday, October 6.

They say the vehicle was traveling eastbound on West Detroit Boulevard, approaching Sharon Lane, and a male pedestrian was in the eastbound lane.

FHP officials say the vehicle struck the pedestrian, and fled the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene by Escambia EMS.
