Newport News, VA : 3 trapped, injured in crash on I-64 in Hampton on Friday, September 15th 2017

Three people were taken to the hospital after they were trapped in a crash involving a truck and a cab on Interstate 64 in Hampton Friday afternoon, police said.

The crash happened about 3 p.m. in the westbound lanes at the Magruder Boulevard offramp, according to Virginia State Police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

Three people were trapped in the truck and extricated by Hampton Division of Fire & Rescue. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, Anaya said.

The cab driver had two occupants inside, but none were injured, she said. The crash is under investigation.Emergency crews are responding to a crash with an entrapment on westbound I-64 in Hampton at the Magruder Boulevard offramp.

Hampton Division of Fire & Rescue and Virginia State Police responded to the crash with injuries about 3:05 p.m., according to police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

The ramp is blocked while crews clear the scene and police invesitgate. No further information has been released.
