A 39-year-old Dunnellon man was seriously injured Wednesday afternoon when a tire blew on a box truck and it rolled over on State Road 121 in Levy County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Andre Fairley, 39, was a passenger in the 1998 International box truck around 5:25 p.m. when the left front tire blew, according to an FHP media release.
The truck, which had been traveling south on the highway, crossed the northbound lane and, as the driver applied the brakes, rotated counterclockwise, rolled onto its roof and struck several small trees near the east shoulder.
The driver, Shane Orshal, 38, of Yankeetown, and passenger Laquon Knight, 29, of Lecanto, were taken to UF Health Shands Hospital with minor injures, the release states. Fairley, who had serious injuries, was also transported to Shands.
