Two people were transported to The Memorial Hospital of Salem County Monday afternoon following a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Shell Road and Hawks Bridge Road.
The crash occurred just after 4 p.m. when Liam Reale Jr., 71, of Oxford, Pennsylvania, was driving his red four-door Oullass Supreme Oldsmobile when he made an improper turn onto Shell Road, police said.
Reale struck a gray Kia that was driving on Shell Road.
Shell Road was closed to traffic in both directions until approximately 5:15 p.m. Monday.
Reale was taken by Pennsville Ambulance to The Memorial Hospital of Salem County after complaining of neck injuries, according to authorities.
The driver of the Kia was also taken to the hospital for injuries to his arm, police said.
A passenger in the Kia reportedly had pain, but refused treatment.
Pennsville Fire and Rescue Co., Pennsville Ambulance, Carneys Point Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad, and Carneys Point Police responded to the crash.
Reale was cited for an improper turn, police said.
