A 53-year-old Hartville man suffered serious injuries in a crash along William Penn Avenue NE in Lake Township Monday morning, highway patrol said.

The crash was reported around 9:30 a.m. just south of State Route 619. A 75-year-old Akron man in a sedan turned left in front of the oncoming motorcycle and the two collided.

The man on the motorcycle was thrown from his bike and off the side of the road, according to highway patrol.

He was taken to Mercy Hospital with what investigators describe as serious injuries. No update on his condition has been released.

The driver of the sedan was taken to Akron City Hospital with minor injuries.
