Smyrna, GA : 2 injured, suspect on the run after driver flees police, crashes on Belmont Park Drive on Friday, 24th April, 2020

A busy Cobb County intersection was shut down for more than an hour Friday morning after a man ran from police and crashed, leaving two of his passengers with serious injuries.
The incident began sometime after 8 a.m. with a suspicious person call near a mixed-use development on Belmont Park Drive, Smyrna police said.When police arrived, the driver of an SUV fled the scene, striking one of the responding officers’ patrol cars, Smyrna police spokesman Sgt. Louis Defense said in a Facebook post. The man refused to stop and police pursued the vehicle, hoping to get the license plate number, authorities said.
