Warrenton, VA : A 19-year-old Sumerduck resident died after a single-vehicle crash on Thursday, July 13, 2017
A 19-year-old Sumerduck resident died Thursday morning after a single-vehicle crash at Union Church Road.
The wreck happened at 7 a.m. near the intersection of Route 636.
Edward Paul Davis Jr., 19, was traveling south on Union Church Road in a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu sedan when he lost control, swerved off the road to the left and struck a tree, said state police Sgt. Les Tyler.
Davis, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was flown to Mary Washington Hospital, where he died at 8:29 a.m., Tyler said.
Speed appears to be a factor in the crash, he said.
Trooper T.B. Ralls is investigating.
