Allentown,PA : Driver who lost wife in Upper Nazareth crash is moved out of intensive care on may, monday 15th 2017
Five days after the Upper Nazareth Township crash that killed his wife and a teen driver, David Zellner was moved Monday out of intensive care, his daughter said.
"He's got four broken limbs and can't do anything for himself, but his spirits are good considering everything that happened," said Kristen Zellner.David Zellner, 71, of Upper Nazareth was driving his wife, Brenda, 70, home from dinner in Nazareth at 8:59 p.m. Wednesday when his vehicle and a car collided on Route 248.
Brenda and the driver of the car, Jonathan Morales Lopez, 19, of Bethlehem Township, died at the scene. David Zellner was taken to St. Luke's University Hospital-Fountain Hill in critical condition.
With his arms and legs broken, Zellner initially was sedated. A day later, Kristen and her sister, Stacy, informed him their mother was gone, and he had lost his wife of 51 years.
"We had to tell him when he came out of sedation," Kristen said. It was a difficult conversation, she said.
