Hazleton, PA : A 24-year-old Rice Township resident died in a crash on Monday, July 10, 2017

A 24-year-old Rice Township resident died in a crash around 2 a.m. Monday on Nuangola Road, police said.

The Luzerne County Coroner’s office identified the victim as Erik Smith of Rice Township. He died of multiple traumatic injuries.

Rice Township Police Sergeant Harry Ehret said Smith was the driver and the only person in a car that went off the road and rolled over early Monday morning. The man was ejected from the vehicle and the car rolled on top of him, Ehret said.
