Claverack, NY : Woman dead in a single-car crash vehicle became airborne and slammed into a wooded area on Monday August 4th 2014

State police say they're investigating a one-car crash that has claimed a woman's life in the Hudson Valley. Troopers say a woman from Dutchess County was driving north on the Taconic State Parkway on Monday when for an unknown reason she drove off the road and over an embankment in the Columbia County town of Claverack, 30 miles south of Albany. Police say her vehicle became airborne and slammed into a wooded area, coming to rest between two trees. The woman was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased.
