Statesville, NC : Two men were injured when their trucks collided on May, Wednesday 10th 2017

Two men were injured when their trucks collided Wednesday morning on Mocksville Highway, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.

Trooper L.I. Tuckler identified the drivers as 63-year-old Robert Ramseur and 66-year-old Roy Pharr. Both are from Statesville.

Pharr was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, Tuckler said, adding that Pharr suffered a leg fracture and severe facial injuries.

Ramseur, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was transported to Davis Regional Medical Center with less severe injuries.

Both men are expected to recover, Tuckler said.

At 8:12 a.m., Pharr was turning west from Barry Oak Road onto Mocksville Highway when he was struck by Ramseur, who was traveling east, Tuckler said.

Speed, alcohol and drugs were not factors. No other people or vehicles were involved in the crash.

Pharr was charged with failure to yield the right of way.

The intersection was closed for more than an hour while crews cleared the crash debris.
