Jonesboro, AR : One person severely injured in bus, dump truck, car crash Thursday morning on July 10, 2014
Ambulances were called to an accident on Washington and Patrick Thursday morning following a crash involving a JETS bus, a dump truck and a car, according to Jonesboro E911.
The call came into the call center around 10:15 a.m.
According to the crash report, a Nissan Sentra attempted to make left turn onto Patrick when the driver hit the dump truck. The driver of the dump truck hit his breaks causing him to slide onto on coming traffic, where he hit a JETS bus heading westbound on Washington Ave.
Eight people were taken to both St. Bernards and NEA Baptist. There were no fatal injuries. According to the crash report, the 72-year-old driver of a Nissan Sentra was in the most serious condition.
A light pole was snapped and another is leaning. City Water and Light was called and power is shut off in the area as crews worked to fix repairs.
JETS Transit Director, Steve Ewart, visited the driver and passengers on the bus and told Region 8 all of them seem to be in good condition.
