Concord,NH : motorcyclist dies following Franklin crash on June, Sunday 18th 2017

A Massachusetts motorcyclist died Sunday following a three-vehicle crash on Route 3A in Franklin, according to police.

David Insley, 37, of New Bedford, Mass., suffered critical injuries when his 2003 Harley Davidson collided head-on with a 2011 Nissan Xterra shortly after 10 a.m., Franklin police Sgt. Daniel Ball said. Insley was taken by ambulance to Franklin Regional Hospital where he later died, Ball said, adding that the driver of the Nissan suffered minor injuries.

The Nissan, whose operator police did not name, was reportedly traveling north on Route 3A while Insley was traveling south.

The third vehicle involved in the crash was also traveling north. It sustained only a few scrapes and was able to be driven from the scene, Ball said.

A section of Route 3A near Lake Shore Drive was closed for several hours Sunday. New Hampshire State Police troopers assisted Franklin officers at the scene.
