Lyons , WI : One person killed and another seriously injured after Single vehicle crash on Saturday , May 9th 2015

A passenger was killed and the driver severely injured in a single car crash Saturday night in Walworth County.

According to a Walworth County Sheriff's Department news release, a 1995 Honda Accord left Townline Road about 6 p.m. and struck a tree, east of Highway 12 in the Town of Lyons.

The 34-year-old driver from Geneoa City was flown to a trauma center with severe injuries. Her passenger, a 22-year-old woman from the Town of Bloomfield, was declared dead at the scene.

The sheriff's department said excessive speed may be a factor in the crash.
