Two men in a Honda were seriously injured when the driver swerved to avoid a vehicle that was exiting the Tower Mill parking lot onto Quarry Street and crashed into a utility pole just before 5:30 p.m. Monday, officials said.
The passenger of the black Honda was lying in the roadway on Quarry Street when first responders arrived at the scene, said Fire Department Lt. Chris Lecomte.
After the Honda crashed into the utility pole, the car rolled backwards into the Dollar Tree parking lot with the driver inside, Lecomte said.
The driver of the Honda was extricated from the car, said Fire Department Lt. James Wilson. Both men were taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
