Cowley County, KS : Four-vehicle crash on K-15 in Cowley County on Thursday, 9th January, 2020
Hilary Archambeau, age 30, of Winfield was killed in a four-vehicle crash on K-15 in Cowley County Thursday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 1996 GMC Yukon driven by Archambeau crossed the center line a tenth of a mile west of 61st Road at approximately 10:15 a.m., where it sideswiped a 2014 Nissan Altima driven by James Berry, 74, also of Winfield. Berry was not believed to have been injured in the collision.
After sideswiping Berry’s vehicle, Archambeau’s vehicle was then struck by a 2017 Freightliner driven by Dylan Verstaraete, 25, of Turon. Nine-year-old Trevor Verstaraete, also of Turon, was a passenger in the Freightliner. Both were transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with suspected minor injuries.
A fourth vehicle, a 2019 Nissan Sentra, driven by Mckinzie Brown, 29, of Wellington, then came upon the crash, and was unable to avoid it. Brown was also transported to Wesley Medical Center with suspected minor injuries.
