Reading, PA : Kutztown man and Texas man injured in crash in Richmond Township on Wednesday, August 17, 2016

A Kutztown man and a Texas man were hurt Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash that shut a lane of Kutztown Road in Richmond Township, police said.

The accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. at Kutztown Road and Farmers Drive.
According to Fleetwood police, who also patrol the township:

Archer Hain, 38, of Kutztown was northbound on Kutztown Road. When he attempted to turn left onto Farmers Drive, his vehicle was hit by a southbound vehicle driven by Ricardo Lara, 35, of Laredo, Texas.

Hain's vehicle spun before it hit a wooden pole. Lara's vehicle stopped in the intersection.

Hain was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown, while Lara was taken to Reading Hospital. Lara's condition was still being assessed late Wednesday. Hain's condition was unavailable.

The southbound lane of Kutztown Road was closed and traffic was detoured for about 45 minutes.
