Hastings, MN : Anthony J. Bruner, 35, killed in a crash on Highway 61 south of Hastings on Saturday, April 23, 2016

A Hastings man was killed Saturday in a crash on Highway 61 south of Hastings.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Anthony J. Bruner, 35, of Hastings, was travelling southbound on Highway 61 on his Harley Davidson Roadster when he left the roadway. He went over Cannon Street, which caused the motorcycle to roll. Bruner was thrown from the motorcycle.

The crash was reported at 12:26 a.m. April 23. Bruner was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul but died of his injuries. According to the State Patrol report, alcohol was detected in Bruner's system. He was not wearing a helmet.

The State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Hastings Fire Department and Dakota County Sheriff's Office.

Funeral arrangements are being completed by Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
