PHELPS, NY : A Newark man died from his injuries after a motorcycle crash on Thursday, July 20, 2017

A Newark man died from his injuries after a motorcycle crash on Neider Road late Thursday night.

Ontario County deputies said the crash happened about 11:45 p.m. near Cedar Swamp Road when motorcyclist Francis Guchone, 71, hit a dog.

Deputies said Guchone was ejected from his bike and taken by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he died from his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. Deputies said alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors.

Phelps Fire and Ambulance also responded to the scene.
