Three people were injured in a Highway 118 crash near Saticoy Thursday morning, officials said.
The California Highway Patrol reported the crash about 6:40 a.m. along Highway 118 near Clubhouse Drive. The Ventura County Fire Department reported that there were two vehicles with significant damage involved and three people with reported injuries.
A preliminary investigation determined that a 20-year-old Fillmore man was driving east on the highway when he lost control of his SUV and crossed over double yellow lines into the opposite lane of traffic. He then crashed into a pick up traveling in the opposite direction.
The driver and a passenger of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was not taken to a hospital, officials said.
The driver of the pick up, a 63-year-old Moorpark man, suffered major injuries and was taken to Ventura County Medical Center.
The westbound lane of Highway 118 was closed about 6:50 a.m. and reopened shortly after 8 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ventura-area CHP Office.
