EL PASO COUNTY, CO : 1 airlifted after crash on Highway 94 in eastern El Paso County on Monday, 2nd September 2024

One person was airlifted and a second person was also injured after two cars collided east of Colorado Springs Monday night.

Colorado State Patrol says troopers responded to Highway and Engleby Drive at 10:20 p.m. for the reported crash, finding two wrecked vehicles including one hauling a trailer.

Westbound lanes on the highway were closed for hours so troopers could investigate the scene and get a chopper on the ground to transport one of the victims to the hospital. The other injured person was taken via ambulance.

State Patrol didn’t have details on what led up to the crash as it remains under investigation.
