Hillsborough, FL : Pedestrian hit, killed on I-75 in Hillsborough on April 23rd 2014

A man who was walking on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County was hit and killed by a car Tuesday night.

Florida Highway Patrol investigators say Jason Henriques, 39, of Tampa, was driving a 2010 Infiniti in southbound lane on I-75 and hit Fred Butler, 66, of Providence, RI.

Butler was walking in the outside southbound lane when he was hit just south of the Fowler exit on I-75 at about 11:34 p.m. He died at the scene of the crash.

Investigators say alcohol tests are pending on Butler. Henriques had not been drinking, according to the accident report.
