Emmet, WI : 16-year-old girl died in a crash on State Highway 26 bridge in Dodge County on Wednesday, June 22, 2016

A 16-year-old girl injured in a crash in Dodge County died Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office said.

Gabrielle K. Spende of rural Watertown was driving a 1999 Cadillac that crashed shortly after 3:30 p.m., Monday under the State Highway 26 bridge on Welsh Road in the Town of Emmet, according to a news release from the Dodge County Sheriff's Office.

Gabrielle was southbound on Welsh Road and entering a curve when the vehicle slid in a clockwise direction before striking a bridge pillar, according to the release.

She was flown by Flight for Life helicopter to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, where she died Wednesday, according to the release.

The crash remained under investigation, the sheriff's office said.
