Tacoma,WA : Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after 5-vehicle wreck on February, Friday 9th 2018

A 48-year-old motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital Friday night after a five-vehicle wreck on state Route 18 in Auburn, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The man was riding in the eastbound lanes shortly after 6 p.m. when he switched lanes and struck a red Kia Soul driven by a 67-year-old man driving with a 66-year-old female passenger. The Kia was pushed forward hitting the car in front of it, which in turn hit the next car.

The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike. A fifth vehicle, a Toyota Camry, hit the motorcycle.

The motorcyclists was flown to Harborview Medical Center and the driver of the Toyota was taken to Auburn Regional Medical Center. Those in the other three vehicles were not injured.
