Pittsburg, CA : Motorist injured after a collision on Highway 4, just west of Bailey Road on Wednesday afternoon, February 24, 2016
A motorist was hospitalized with major injuries after a collision Wednesday afternoon on Highway 4, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 4:27 p.m. on eastbound Highway 4, just west of Bailey Road, said CHP Officer Damian Cistaro.
The driver was transported with major injuries to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
Responding officers found the driver's car blocking the no. 4 and 5 lanes, Cistaro said. The CHP issued a Sig-alert about the blocked lanes at 4:47 p.m. and it was lifted at about 5:45 p.m.
No other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash had not been determined.
