Fort Lauderdale, FL : Three people killed in Margate crash on Sunday, January 15th 2017

Three people in a 2010 Honda Civic were killed in a crash with a truck Sunday afternoon at the intersection of West Atlantic Boulevard and Lakewood Circle in Margate, authorities said.

The crash occurred at 4:10 p.m., as the Civic was heading west on West Atlantic Boulevard. It collided with a 2012 Ford F-450.The driver of the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene by Margate Fire-Rescue. The two passengers were taken to Broward Health North in Pompano Beach, where they pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.

Authorities have not released the names of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
