MAXWELL, NE : Rollover accident on Maxwell on Thursday, December, 21st 2017

One person is dead after their vehicle rolled over at the bottom of the Maxwell overpass.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, a westbound vehicle left the road near the top of the Maxwell Overpass on Highway 30 and slid down the south side at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Officers said the vehicle rolled and struck a tree near the bottom of the overpass.

Deputies reported that the lone male occupant, 29-year-old Constantino Megariz-Carter of North Platte, was trapped in the vehicle when they received the call.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived and found the male was deceased from injuries sustained in the accident.

They said seatbelts were not in use and drugs and alcohol are not suspected.

The investigation is ongoing.
