Beaufort, S.C : Georgia veterinarian dies after Jasper County car crash early Wednesday morning, JULY 6, 2016
A 52-year-old woman from Athens, Ga., whose car crashed in Jasper County early Wednesday morning, has died.
Around 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, Monica Mueller’s 2012 BMW was heading east on S.C. 336 near Ridgeland when the car went off the right side of the road and struck a tree, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins.
Mueller, who operated her practice using her maiden name, Monica Kucher, was the only person in the car, Collins said. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash but was injured and taken to a local hospital, he said.
On Thursday, she died of “massive” head injuries sustained in the crash, Jasper County Coroner Martin Sauls III said.
Mueller was the founder and owner of Good Hands Veterinary Hospital in Athens.
