Tacoma, WA : Man killed in a one-car crash on Kent-Black Diamond Road Southeast on Monday, July 25, 2016
King County medical examiners have identified the man killed Monday in a one-car crash on Kent-Black Diamond Road Southeast.
Gurpreet Gosal, 21, was the passenger in a car driven by a 23-year-old Kent man who was arrested for vehicular homicide after the 7:45 p.m. wreck in the 31800 block of Kent-Black Diamond Road Southeast.
The northbound car crossed double yellow lines at a “very high rate of speed” to pass a vehicle, nearly hit an oncoming vehicle and swerved to avoid it, King County sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West said Tuesday.
When the car veered back into its own lane, it hit a guardrail, bounced across the road to the southbound guardrail, went airborne and hit a tree.
The driver appeared intoxicated, West said.
