Benton County, WA : Federal Way man killed in crash near Prosser on Thursday, October 20, 2016

A Federal Way man was killed Thursday when his SUV collided with a car and rolled over near Prosser, the Washington State Patrol said.

Ricardo Lopez Contreras, 29, was driving east on Interstate 82 around 10:50 a.m. when his 1998 Kia Sportage crossed the centerline and hit a 2015 Volkswagen Passat 2 miles west of Prosser, according to a Patrol news release.

The Kia left the road and rolled over, the release said, and Contreras died at the scene.

Neither the driver of the Volkswagen, Jose A. Escobar, 26, of Sunnyside, nor his four passengers were injured in the crash, the Patrol reported.

Troopers said all parties were wearing seat belts. Cause of the accident was under investigation.
