Motorcyclist killed on southbound 405 Freeway in Van Nuys

A motorcyclist plowed into the rear of a pickup truck on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway late this afternoon and died at the scene.The collision occurred near Burbank Boulevard about 4:30 p.m., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
According to ABC7, the motorcyclist hit the rear of a pickup truck, which overturned as a result. No significant injuries were reported in the truck, however, Humphrey said.
A SigAlert was called due to the closure of the carpool and two other lanes for the crash investigation and clean-up.
