Two Harbors,MN : Authorities ID Two Harbors man who died in crash on December, Friday 22nd 2017

A 39-year-old Two Harbors man was killed on Friday morning in a head-on collision northeast of Two Harbors.

Jason Paul Wilkes died in the crash that occurred on state Highway 61 north of Crow Creek in Silver Creek Township at about 8:15 a.m., the Minnesota State Patrol and Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Wilkes was driving a 1993 Honda Accord north on Highway 61 when it collided with a southbound 2018 GMC Sierra. The State Patrol report did not say which vehicle crossed the centerline; there was snow and ice on the road at the time of the crash.

Wilkes was not wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene, the State Patrol reported. The driver of the other vehicle, Eric Karl Moschet, 53, of Eden Prairie, Minn., was taken to Lake View Hospital in Two Harbors with non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol said.
