Jamestown, ND : Two passengers in one vehicle died in a two-car crash in Grand Forks on Wednesday, January, 17th 2018
Two passengers in one vehicle died in a two-car crash on Thursday in Grand Forks County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 10:45 a.m. when a 2007 Nissan Altima crossed the center line while negotiating a westbound curve on N.D. Highway 15 around 12 miles west of Thompson, N.D. The Nissan collided head on with an eastbound 2008 Chevrolet Uplander.
Both vehicles came to rest upright on the north shoulder and partially in the ditch, the patrol said.
The driver of the Nissan, Brenden Myron, 19, Northwood, N.D., and the driver of the Chevrolet, Scott Grund, 59, Hatton, N.D., were injured and transported by ambulance services from Altru Health System and Northwood Deaconess Health Center to Altru Health System in Grand Forks for nonlife-threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and airbags deployed.
A 59-year-old woman passenger in the Chevrolet was transported by ambulance to Altru Health System where she was pronounced dead at the hospital. A 97-year-old woman passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said.
Both passengers were wearing seat belts and an airbag deployed with the 59-year-old passenger.
The crash remains under investigation by the patrol. Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
