Richmond,VA : Woman killed in high-speed crash on Richmond Parkway Tuesday night around 9.30 p.m May 13th 2014.
A woman died in a high-speed crash that caused a minor power outage Tuesday night, police said.
Police have not yet identified the woman, who crashed a a green Ford Mustang into a telephone pole while driving north on Garrard Boulevard, also known as part of the Richmond Parkway. The crash happened just past West MacDonald Avenue around 9;30 p.m., Richmond police spokeswoman Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.
The woman was trapped in her car after the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, Abetkov said. Nobody else was inside the car. She was not identified, pending notification of relatives.
The crash knocked out power to 743 customers, but all of them had their power restored before 5 a.m. Wednesday morning, PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said. All but 45 of them were back with power by 10:40 p.m. on Tuesday, she said.
