Omaha,NE : Ashland man dies after crash with semi in Sarpy County on may, Monday 22th 2017
A 55-year-old Ashland man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 34 in Sarpy County.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office said a 1997 Ford Ranger pickup collided with a semitrailer truck at the intersection of Highway 34 and Harlan Lewis Road shortly before 9 a.m. The Ford Ranger was turning east onto Highway 34 from the southbound lane of Harlan Lewis Road when the crash occurred. The semi had been headed east on Highway 34 at the time of the crash.
Randy Strode, the driver of the Ford Ranger, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Sheriff’s Office said. Nathan Jongeling, 37, of Omaha, the driver of the semi, was treated for minor injuries.
Highway 34 was shut down and remained closed Monday afternoon as officials investigated the crash.
