Connersville, IN : One person killed and another seriously injured in single-vehicle crash in Fayette County early Saturday morning, April 18, 2015
One Wayne County man was killed and another was seriously injured in a Fayette County crash Saturday.
According to a press release from the Fayette County Sheriff's Department, officials responded to a serious personal injury/fatality accident in the 1200 block of County Road 450 East at 4:48 a.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived on the scene, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff's department said they believe the victim is Arie W. Lackey, 24, of Centerville. The announcement was a preliminary identification and more would need to be done make a positive identification, officials said in the release. Lackey's family has been notified, the sheriff's department said.
In addition, Dylan B. Kettler, 22, of Richmond, was seriously injured. He was taken from the scene by Fayette County EMS, then taken by STAT Flight 5 from the Connersville Airport to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. He was in critical condition Sunday night, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Those who responded to the crash in addition to the sheriff's department include Fayette County EMS, Connersville Fire Department, Everton Volunteer Fire Department and Fayette County Coroner's Office.
