Victorville, CA : South Gate man killed in Stoddard Valley off-road crash on Sunday, 6th November 2016

A 28-year-old South Gate man was killed in a off-road crash in the Stoddard Valley Off-Highway Vehicle area on Sunday night, authorities said.

San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department officials said Luis Angel Ignacio was pronounced dead at the scene after he was driving a sand rail off-road vehicle, lost control and was ejected in the rollover. According to the coroner’s report, Ignacio was not wearing a helmet and was unrestrained while driving the off-road vehicle.

California Highway Patrol officers responded and learned Ignacio was driving a 2014 Canam and struck a sand berm at an unknown rate of speed and overturned just a little after 7 p.m.

“It is undermined at this time if alcohol and/or drug use was a factor in this collision,” CHP officials said in a statement.

The collision was under investigation on Monday, authorities said.
