KINGSLEY, IA : Driver dies in 3-vehicle collision in Plymouth County on Wednesday, October, 25th 2017

A vehicle collision involving two semi trucks and a pickup sent three to the hospital Wednesday in Plymouth County.

A male driver of one of the semis died from injuries sustained in the collision, which happened around noon at the intersection of Highway 140 and C-44 between Kingsley and Remsen, Iowa.

A press release said a Dodge pickup pulling a utility trailer driven by Aaron Moon, 36, of Westfield, Iowa, was eastbound on C-44 and failed to stop at a stop sign. His vehicle entered Highway 140 and was struck by a northbound semi driven by Terry Hainzinger, 61, of Fenton, Iowa.

The collision of the two vehicles caused Moon's utility trailer to be detached and go into the southbound lane, where it was struck by another semi.

The driver of that southbound semi was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center -- Sioux City, where he later died.

His name is not being released pending notification of kin. The release said the truck he was driving was registered to Deluxe Feeds Inc., of Sheldon, Iowa.

Moon and Hainzinger were transported to Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa, where they were treated and released.

The sheriff's office was also assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DOT, and emergency personnel from Kingsley, Remsen, Le Mars and Merrill, Iowa.
