BELLOWS FALLS, VT : Woman facing 5 counts in crash on Monday, February 6th 2017
Police said a Bellows Falls woman violated five court orders in one car crash in Clarendon.
Shannon M. Rajda, 32, was initially scheduled for arraignment Monday in Rutland criminal court on five charges of violating her conditions of release, as charges of each of driving without a license and careless or negligent operation — all misdemeanors. Court records indicated the arraignment was rescheduled to Feb. 13.If convicted, she could face a maximum of 5 ½ years in prison.
Vermont State Police said Rajda was driving on East Clarendon Road Dec. 10 when she hit another car, driving “very fast” away from the scene after stopping to talk to the other driver. Police characterized the crash as “minor.”
Police said Rajda’s license was suspended and she was under conditions of release from various previous charges including that she not leave Windham County without permission of the court there, that she not drive, that she not engage in criminal behavior, that she abide by previous conditions and that she not be charged with any new offenses.
