Morristown, TN : Woman injured in single-car crash on April, Wednesday 12th 2017
One woman was injured and a man was taken into custody following a single vehicle crash on Greasy Cove Road in the Cosby community Wednesday morning.
Cocke County Deputy Jonathan Ball told the NewsSource that the 5:40 a.m. crash occurred on a curve because the driver was exceeding the speed limit.
Joshua Manos, 23, Cooper Street, Newport, was operating a Honda Passport when it rolled.
A passenger, Jacqueline Mathis, 30, Cricket Hollow Road, Cosby, sustained a fractured leg, and although she was not trapped, she was unable to free herself from the vehicle.
Personnel with the Newport Rescue Squad, Cocke County Fire Department and the Cosby Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
Mathis was transported by First Call EMS to the Newport Medical Center for treatment.
A second passenger, Jackie Lynn Clevenger, 25, Nutmeg Street, Newport, was not injured but was taken into custody by Ball on a warrant charging him with failure to comply with child support.
